Urinary Incontinence
Here are two main types of urinary incontinence:
Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) &
Urge Urinary Incontinence.
If you have stress urinary incontinence (SUI), you may lose urine when you laugh, sneeze, cough, walk or exercise or when you get up from a seated or lying position.
If you have urge incontinence you might have sudden losses of urine without any warning or the inability to reach the toilet soon enough when the urge arises.
Talk to your provider about your specific symptoms. He or she can determine the type and cause of your incontinence and determine the need for any further evaluation or treatment.
Your provider will examine you and might suggest a voiding diary and or urodynamic testing. This can easily be performed in our office. Click here for more information about completing a voiding diary and information about the urodynamic evaluation.
